We are a church that places emphasis on worship, Christian education, kindness and mission. Guided by faith, we strive to embody Christ’s ministry to the church, local community and world – serving God through mission.

As pastor of First Presbyterian Church – I believe that healing takes place in the life of community. I have the joy of sharing in mutual ministry with the wonderful people of this church – as we seek to better understand our relationship with Jesus Christ, and how God transforms our lives and the world.

I believe the church as a place to practice our faith and unity in Jesus Christ – a place where all of God’s people are free to explore and practice their faith. First Presbyterian Church welcomes all with joy compassion, forgiveness

and love!

On April 17, 2010, the First Presbyterian Church of Greenville Youth raised $1,000 for the organization Living Waters for the World at their first annual Walk for Water, an event intended to raise awareness and funds for clean water needs around the globe. Because the average daily walk taken by many people for clean water is six kilometers, the youth invited the Greenville community to walk with them from First Presbyterian Church to the levee and back.

The youth created a short documentary film of the Walk for Water to enter a national contest sponsored by the Presbyterian Church (USA). In this film, they interpret the verse in John 7:38 -- “Out of the believer’s heart shall flow rivers of living water” -- through the lens of mission and the Walk for Water.
